The community of Tubac was previously a Spanish Presidio. It is now known for an array of art galleries, cultural shopping, fine art, and dining. Tubac is in south central Arizona, about fifty miles
south of Tucson. Tubac is an unincorporated community and is considered a census-designated
place (CDP) in Santa Cruz County, Arizona. The community is nestled in the Santa Cruz River Valley at an elevation of 3,209 feet above sea level. Tubac is bordered by Santa Rita Mountains to the east and the Tumacácori Mountains lie across the range to the west. 86% of residents
