Locally
known as the “Mountain Empire.” The community of Sonoita makes up what is the
heart of Arizona’s Wine Country. The community is in south central Arizona,
about fifty-two miles south of Tucson off Arizona State Route 82. Sonoita is an
unincorporated community, and a census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Cruz County,
Arizona. The community is nestled in Sonoita Creek Valley at an elevation of 4,970
feet above sea level. The Sonoita plain lies in the valley between the Santa
Rita Mountains to the west, Whetstone Mountains to the East, Huachuca Mountains
to the southeast, and the Patagonia Mountains in the southwest. 100%
