The community of Nogales borders with her sister city of Nogales,
Sonora, Mexico. It is Arizona’s largest international border town. It is here
that the Juan Bautista Anza National Historic Trail begins, and the path of the
Monarch butterfly’s migration. The community is in
south central Arizona, about 70 miles south of Tucson. Nogales is an incorporated
city in Santa Cruz County, Arizona. The community is nestled in the Santa
Cruz River Valley at an elevation of 3,829 feet above sea level. Nogales is
bordered on the east by Patagonia Mountains and the Pajarito Mountains and
Atascosa Mountains rest across to the west. 49% of
residents who live in the community of Nogales own their homes while 51% of the
locals rent. The median home age in the Nogales community is 43 years.
