How The Coronavirus Changed Our Homes

Weathering The Storm

Ever since the pandemic started, I have heard time and time again how we are all in the same boat! On the other hand, I see it more as if we are all weathering the same storm. Whereas, I view the "boats" as our homes and our families in them doing their best to shelter in place while trying to have some sort of normalcy in our lives.

Transforming Our Homes

Our needs are tied to our emotions, which are themselves influenced by our surroundings. The pandemic we’re living through has intensified certain emotions and shaken up our priorities. Home isn’t just home anymore. With the pandemic and lockdown, it has become an office, a school, a gym, a play area, a restaurant, a dormitory and a place to retreat and relax.

Disinfecting Your Home

We want home to be a haven (especially during stressful times), and part of that, at a fundamental level, means living in a space that helps keep us healthy. According to the CDC, the virus may live on surfaces for hours to days, making regular cleaning and disinfecting a wise practice during this time.

Planning Domestic Spaces

We all wonder how COVID-19 will change our lives and habits and whether we will return to our old normal. Confined to our houses, we are also more aware of the space we share and the limitations of our homes, and we reflect on how they could be more pleasant, comfortable, safe and healthy.
