HOA's Prohibited in Regulating Real Estate Signs

Over the years the Arizona Association of REALTORS® has lobbied at the state capital to protect homeowners who's homes are within HOA's. According to Per AAR, here is a brief explanation in reference to sign laws for Arizona homeowners. 
 
What Should I Know About Arizona’s Sign Laws? In Arizona, homeowners’ associations (HOA) are prohibited from regulating or restricting the use of “for sale,” “for rent” or “for lease” signs on a property owner’s yard as long as the sign meets statutory requirements and the Homeowners Association (HOA) does not prohibit or restrict leasing.
 
Those requirements are:
(1) the sign must be commercially produced;
(2) the sign cannot exceed eighteen by twenty-four inches; and
(3) the rider attached cannot exceed six by twenty-four inches.
 

Buying A Home In An HOA

If you are about to buy a home that is part of a homeowners’ association. There are special documents you are entitled to receive per Arizona state law from the home seller. Some of the key items you should be provided with when buying a home that is governed by a HOA is a copy of the bylaws and the rules of the association and a copy of the declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions ("CC&Rs").
